TLC had a song What about your Friends, will they be around will they let you down.....The quote "Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer".......The Websters defines a friend as "a person whom one is fond, a close acquaintance......
I Wonder Y friends are so hard to find! I had a friend that I thought was my sister, we did everything together from road trips to sleep overs wit the kids but jealously took over the friendship and It ended in a bitter fight...I had another friend that i thought was my sister and we did everything together from shopping to house parties, you name it we did it!!!! It ended because of outside friends trying ever hard to stop the friendship from growing!! We had alot of issues wit that friendship, but it ended!! It hurt more than a long term relationship wit a guy!! There are more friend situations, but they ALL seem to end for one reason or another!!
So I sit and wonder sometimes why is my luck wit friends so bad....Is it me or the friends i pick.....Do i give to much only to be let down in the end....Maybe its because I don't have a good relationship with the only friend that will stick clolser than any brother, that will never leave or forsake me, that will lead my in the path!!!

Hi! Love the post! This is so hard cause I used to struggle with keeping friends as well. I noticed within the last few years I've made quite a few friends at my church and when I was working that are really close to me, as well as family members. Before recently I really didn't think that women could truly be friends.
ReplyDeleteI think girlfriends are needed and wanted and like you said it can hurt really bad falling out with a close girl friend. When I fell out with my maid of honor that hurt (but we've since reconciled:-).
And you're right about Jesus Christ being your friend and learning to be close to Him first. The only people we can change are ourselves, not others and at times it really helps to be closer to Christ because He'll help us to see people as He sees them. Broken. And remember the saying "hurt people, hurt people."
And this may sound pathetic but I prayed for friends. (LOL I really didn't have many) I love Sam and he's my best friend but there's still only some things women understand and I really needed friends, (Christian women) in my life and after becoming closer to Christ I desired that. But honestly, cuz God really had to change me first and that was a hard transition before He answered that prayer and brought people along who've truly been friends to me, but He did answer it. I had to learn how to be a friend back and not the friend that I wanted to be or I thought I should be but the kind of friend that God wanted me to be. This is something I never had before and I got it after I prayed for it. And before that I didn't believe it could exist but it does. LOL and look on the bright side even if He doesn't send those extra friends you have Betta, Tre, Me, Sam and a TON of family who love and got your back :-)
